Amish Acres Historic Farm & Heritage Resort is celebrating its 40th Anniversary of historic preservation in 2010. Education, Enlightenment, and Entertainment. And to commemorate this milestone year with our guests, Joy Johnson is hand stitching the special Ruby Red Diamond in the Square Quilt that will be given away by drawing on New Year's Eve. All visitors to Amish Acres throughout the year will have the opportunity to register for the giveaway...and watch Joy at work in the Gross Daadi House on the Historic Farm.

Joy has been quilting at Amish Acres for nearly all of the previous four decades, personally quilting nearly 900 quilts. To register simply stop at The Round Barn Lobby during each visit and receive a form to drop in the box to multiply you chances.

The design reflects the design of Amish Acres Quilt Garden planted across the county road. Don't miss this special growing treat.

OLD RED BARN QUILT GIVEAWAY

It's been awhile since I've given a quilt away

And I reckon it is high time I did something about that.

I'm not one to name quilts.

But this one immediately looked like a fenced berry patch to me. And I've been calling it that ever since.
Even cutie pie with the pink shoes calls it the berry patch quilt.

It even has bees pollinating the flowers.

This lap quilt measures 38"x46" and is made with 100% cotton. Machine washable and dryable.

100TH POST - GIVEAWAY

It's hard for me to believe but this is already our 100th post. We started Oct 2009 and in just 9 months we have given birth to our 100th post. Thanks to all our followers and those that have looked in to see what the Zahava quilters have been doing. As a way of saying thank you, I'd like to offer this vintage quilt book as a free giveaway.
The book is called Prize Country Quilts, by Mary Elizabeth Johnson. Third Printing 1979. Now this is really vintage. It's a hard cover book and loaded with real country patterns and templates and is in excellent condition.
